This summer for Style Stamped was amazing. It was filled with fun, friends, traveling and events! The highlighted event of the summer was certainly the Natural Aristocratic Tea held in Brooklyn, NY. It was a red carpet, high fashion, extremely entertaining royal tea affair, and guess who got to work the red carpet? Yes, your’s truly!
I had so much fun hosting the red carpet and attending this event. Many wonderful people who love natural hair came out to have a great time, and they were dressed in their best! I love asking people about their outfit inspiration on a normal day so this was a perfect job for me. Of course when attending a themed event you have a baseline to work from so I asked the arriving guests about their finished product that presented them in the most pleasing way for tea.
I had to get tea ready too! I wore a black and white strapless dress from Marshall’s and accented it with a long piece of fabric wrapped around my neck and waist, and held together with a brooch. Putting together my accessories was the most fun; I tied my hair up in a bun and wore a black birdcage veil, white lace gloves and a diamond accented necklace.
The event was produced by Natural Hollywood Magazine and Sabine’s Hallway Natural Hair Salon. This was their second annual event (see last year’s here), entitled “A Royal Tea Affair” which showcased high class natural hair and art in the beautiful Grand Prospect Hall, a location that has the ambiance of a vintage fairy tale palace!
Hosted by Jenell B. Stewart of KinkyCurlyCoilyMe.com, there was a delicious four-course meal, live music, live entertainment, and a fashion show. The tea also honored several community leaders that have made a difference by impacting the lives of the youth in a positive way. There is nothing like being in a room so elegantly decorated with such lovely natural ladies and men. Events like this are a true celebration of who we are as individuals and what a force we are together. It’s even better when everyone is so well dressed! I had a great time viewing the natural hair accessories of guests such as hats and fascinators, and tea attire such as dresses and gloves.
The fashion shows were the highlight of the event. Sofistafunk, a high fashion street line showed several of their pieces on the beautiful natural hair models.
These avant garde looks are so Style Stamped!! I loved this portion of the tea; the dresses and skirts from Sofitafunk were a perfect match for the fairy tale ambiance and artistic hairstyles of the models.
There were also beautiful TNAT mini’s!
Jennifer Lord and Sabine Bellevue did a wonderful presentation collaborating their two brands, Natural Hollywood and Sabine’s Hallway together to put on the best event of the summer. See more of the event here!
Look out for the 2016 TNAT date coming soon!!
