Sparks are in order on Style Stamped this week for two reasons. First, it’s the Fourth of July. Second, it was my birthday week! Let’s talk about my birthday first though, and save July 4th for another post :).
My birthday is not a big affair as I usually keep it low and celebrate small with my close friends. Most years I end up in New York, so it was no surprise when I showed up at Penn Station the day before my birthday once again this year. My girls were of course there to pick me up, in more ways than one, and celebrate with me!
So what did I do? More importantly I’m sure you want to know what I wore!
I opted for a simple and classy jumpsuit, or jumper, or romper – whichever term you like best and some lace-up shoes from Zara (previous season). Jumpers have been my thing for the past two summers, although I remember when I was a kid I hated wearing jumpers. They were cumbersome, especially when it was time to use the bathroom! Funny how my outlook on fashion has changed, lol. When I discovered this particular chambray jumper I loved the style of the stove-piped cropped leg and the back. I didn’t realize the back was draped open until I tried it on. Sold!
So…I found this Chambray Jumpsuit by Cloth & Stone at Marshall’s, but I recently noticed that it’s in stores right now at Anthropologie (one of my favorite stomping grounds, or “shopping” grounds). Since I got it at Marshall’s of course the price point was quite different and that was a wonderful birthday surprise! I wonder if I am supposed to keep that a secret from the retail gods??
I love doing the “Sex in the City” type brunch with my girls, and they picked an amazing place to go this time, the Chart House in Weehawken, NJ. It had a panoramic view of New York City’s west side. No matter where you sit in the restaurant, you are accessible to the waterside view. If you’re ever in the NYC area, I’d highly recommend a visit!
So, cheers to one more year of life, style, friends, and stamping! 🙂
xoxoxo Yana B.
