Every woman loves a night out with the girls to shop, chat, and socialize. Shecky’s, a girlfriend promoting group out of NYC, took this euphoria of the bond of womanhood and created event called, yup, you guessed it, “Girls Night Out.” Shecky’s has been hosting these events filled with one of a kind vendors, drinks, music, and fun for over 10 years. They host over 80 of these girlfriend-gathering soiree’s across America. So when they came to Washington, DC, I had to check it out!
There were dozens of vendors lined all around DAR Constitution Hall, including a good friend of mine who makes leather goods by hand. In fact, he’s the one who told me about Shecky’s! I had to buy some earrings from him and support my fellow fashion friend.
Twisted Aristocrat is a street cred worthy hub of amazing accessories created by hand, by my uber creative friend Ashton. He was one of the StyleStamped vendors that I hung out with on Thursday night.
I then moseyed on over to the next table, which featured a wonderful array of African print accessories. Very nicely made, Ms. Debisi told me that she designs each of her items. I was impressed! So I purchased a really cool printed bow tie. You know I love a good bow tie!
I was having fun at Girls Night Out! I went to chat with some fellow New Yorker’s who brought their boutique Volang to us for the night. I turned their corner set up into a dressing room, where else was I going to try on this cool dress I spotted on their rack?!
Another New Yorker was in the building, Michael Darouiche of De Dandy, who makes this delectable hand-made fine jewelry. It’s amazing! It was so lightweight and all of the pieces were pretty and delicate. Loved!
There were quite a few vendors who made jewelry. I love to learn about people’s craft, including Ms. Nakia of Aikan Handmade Bliss. She had some gorgeous big stone necklaces on display. I love a big chunky necklace, and her’s were display worthy for sure!
This lovely lady just brightened up the room with her energy and smile. She had quite a few pieces from her Lucyy Lunaee Boutique that were edgy, fun, and bright. Most of all, they would look good coming home with me! Check her out!
I’d never heard of Living Lockets before, but I ran into Ariel at the event and she told me all about it. Living lockets are necklaces that you create using charms that you place into a round clear plate. The best part about this jewl is that it is not permanent. You can mix and match or start completely new with a collection of charms of choice. I thought it was a great idea, especially for the younger girls! They even throw parties. I’m always looking for cool party ideas for the little fashionistas in my life!
Last but not least, Queen Bee Designs was representing with some beautiful unique handmade designs. Of course I had to try on something. That’s the point!
If you’ve never heard of Shecky’s, now you have! Check them out when they come to your town. Take your girlfriends and be a part of Shecky’s mission to discover unique designers, sip delectable drinks, and most importantly, spend time with your besties!
