We love it when we can get to know designers and follow them and anticipate a new collection on a personal level. That’s how we feel about Orlando Ortiz, AKA “King O”. We met King O last August when he debuted to the world his “Project King Experience” and now he has blessed us with his latest collection, “KINGdOm Come.” The show was an intimate gathering with a lot of art and presence. There were dancers and face paint and fashion. We were there for the fashion of course. #StyleStamped.
Before King O blessed us with his latest collection, the ladies of Instant Vintage 78 made a jaw-dropping statement with a the prelude to the main event. Honestly, it was like having two main events because these ladies killed it too. Stacie and Samantha, partners, best friends, and owners of the vintage boutique Instant Vintage 78 have a collection of unique items that are worth getting a glimpse of. Better yet, they are worth getting your hands on. I know because I have a few one-of-a-kind pieces from them. They are not the ordinary behind the scenes sales women, they are out here showing the world what they have in their ever rotating collection (they hosted a fabulous vintage pop-up shop not too long ago) and on this day we were presented with these fabulous finds on the runway.
These ladies presented us with their best as always and Style Stamped was just happy to be there to see it!
King O then came and took the second half of the show by storm with his new collection for Winter 2014. We know that he loves a good metallic material to work from, but this time he incorporated bias cuts and mid-drifts. For the men he created dynamic jackets blessed with studs and zippers. The ladies were in awe of these jackets and many asked for a unisex version! Red, black, and gold were the primary colors and many of the designs flirted with a leather inspired look. As if the runway show wasn’t enough, dancers Blaze and Porcelain from Raw Element Dance Company gave us entertainment while the runway show was going on. Yes, at the same time!
We can always expect the best from King O. Putting a collection together is not easy but he makes it seem so. He always gets the Style Stamped approval!

Mdurvwa Collection was a part of the show, adding her accessories to accent the designs of King O. Deborah Mdurvwa, owner of Mdurvwa collection has styled many celebrities and her creations are very “King” worthy so this was a great collaboration. She worked hard behind the scenes to create magic. She also had a table set up showing her pieces for purchase.
Desmond Handon of EthniCITY Designs was also there with his table and eclectic creations of Lego designs manipulated into earrings, bow ties, and more.
Another Style Stamped event down. Stay tuned for more to come and don’t forget to let us know what you think! 🙂 Fashion is a conversation and we love to talk!
