Style Stamped has officially gone international, thanks to Mr. IamLordRod who opted to show us his style from across the sea, and we are in love with it! As an American who has never had the opportunity to part the deep blue sea, I am overly intrigued by the differences and similarities in fashion between the US and the UK. And now, thanks to Lord Rod, I get an up close and personal look into the street style of England. He is a master of high-low fashion, which is extremely appreciated as a true sentiment to one’s ability to craft creative looks. Rod is stylish, fly, and kicks a mean soccer ball!!

What are 5 words to describe your style? Simple, Distinct, Creative, Contrast, Dramatic
♥ I love the choice of words, and how they all connect. The words contrast and dramatic stand out, great descriptive words and I totally agree!
What style of clothes do you feel most comfortable in? I feel most comfortable in a T-shirt and a pair of jeans.
♥ So do I! 🙂
What do you feel your style says about you? How does it connect with your personality? I think my style speaks to the dramatic and contrasting side of my personality. I am known to have a quick temper and start drama. In contrast, I can never make up my mind, I tend to change and mix and then go back again; I am quite indecisive.
♥ Okay, well at least you know yourself! Hahaha.
What is your favorite color? My favorite colors are White, Black, and Grey. I think in fashion, these colors bring out simplicity and removes the limitation to go wrong because they are generic colors.
♥ That’s a great point, it is hard to go wrong with neutrals such as white, black, and grey. They are simple colors that can go with almost anything!
What is your favorite accessory? A watch. I have always had a passion for watches because I think no matter what you wear, a strong timepiece says a lot about you.
♥ I’ve heard men say this. Honestly, I never knew a man’s timepiece was so important, but I do now!
What is your favorite place to shop? I don’t really have a favorite shop because I am very diverse. One day you will see me in H&M, the next day you will see me in Louis Vuitton in Paris. I like shopping in Manchester, Liverpool, London & Paris.
♥ Okay, that gave me a twinge of jealousy but I’ll move past it. I would love to have the opportunity to shop in Paris! I’ll take Manchester, Liverpool, and London as well!
What is your most favorite city to visit? NYC, the fashion perspective is unbelievable and almost everyone dresses well. I imagine walking in NYC in the middle of December wearing some long boots and a Burberry Peacoat and scarf.
♥ Yes, we New Yorkers do dress well, thank you for noticing! 🙂 And from what you described, you would have the perfect attire for a New York winter.
How do you come up with an outfit? What are the steps you take to put it together? First, I open my wardrobe, look at the t-shirts and pants and mix and match until I am happy. I am always the last one to get ready, haha. I visualize my outfit very early in the day based on the occasion, sometimes I just pop in my wardrobe randomly just to look, it’s like bringing different ideas together.
♥ I figured when you stated earlier that you are indecisive that the sentiment would trickle over into you taking a long time to get ready! I can appreciate that though, as I am the same way. When dressing yourself you want to make sure you are confident and get it right. So some times that takes longer! Trust me…I understand. My friends may not, but I do. Hahaha
What inspires your style? What do you like most about it? I think the whole simplicity in luxury design inspires my style. I think it is more about what looks good, as opposed to the price. In terms of a persona, Pharrell Williams is my biggest style inspiration. What I like most is my ability to mix it up. If you saw me and I had on a $30 Armani tee, $50 Levi jeans, $400 Louis Vuitton belt, $500 D&G hat, $7000 Hublot watch and $50 Creative Recreation sneakers, someone will see my watch and automatically think well he is rich, someone will see my belt and say well he has style, and someone will see my tee and sneakers and say well I have those too. I am fascinated by the varied opinions and that is what makes my style unique to me.
♥ That is a great analogy and description of mixing high and low fashion. The ability to dress in off-the-rack stores as well as high-end, and put them together as one is, to me, a great portrait of what style is. Like you said, its less about the price and more about the look. And if the look is what you are going for in the first place, that is going to outweigh the price tag in the end anyway.
What else do you want people to know about you and your style? If you want to mix and match pieces contact me haha! I am working on a Lifestyle/Luxury brand which will be coming soon, so watch out for that.
♥ Wow! Thank you Rod, we will certainly be on the lookout for your Lifestyle/Luxury brand. I know you will give StyleStamped first dibs on your look book too (wink, wink)!!
