I love many looks of times past, but bell bottom, or “flare” jeans has never been one of them. Something about the flare bottom is just not appealing to me, especially since I’m not much taller than 5’4. But as with all things, there’s no hurt in trying something new so when I saw these great fitting Paige Denim jeans that retail for over $200 for $60 in T.J. Maxx, I decided to do just that…try something new.
With a pair of my best 5-6″ heels, the Paige jeans fit perfectly (similar here). I thought about trimming the hem because I don’t like my jeans dragging the floor, but with a pair of mega heels there’s no real need. I think an advantage of being a tall woman is the ability to wear jeans that flare without giving the appearance of looking short! Flare jeans, in my opinion, are for long legs. So for those of us who weren’t born with tree-limb like model legs, grab your best pair of heels if this is a style you’d like to try.
I paired these great-fitting jeans with my new favorite tee from Forever 21 with the screen print “Blogging All Day” with tattered holes all over it which goes with the “retro” lived-in theme. The price of $15 was pretty appealing too! I added a vintage belt and red clutch which blended in perfectly with the awesome painted wall I found in Arlington, VA this past weekend. Any reason to rock a new tee and I’m here for it!
What’s a style that you’d like to try that’s outside of your comfort zone? Figure out the fit, and then pair it with an article of clothing that you’re already comfortable in and see what kind of out of the box style stamped magic you can make!
