Hi 2021…Better Late Than Never

I think the expectation when you have a blog or any other writing medium is to write on the first prompt, strike when the iron is hot, and when everyone else is doing…something, you do it too. But what if you just wait a while, sit back, evaluate, take it all in and give yourself time to form your own genuine opinion without the outside noise, and not on the outside time.

I wanted to post on January 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. But things kept happening and I couldn’t write. THEN, my site went down for days! GoDaddy was tripping and they took forever to fix it. So, I had to chill and wait. I wanted to do a post on “Happy New Year!”, then 6 days later I wanted to do a post on “What the Entire F&ck, Capitol Hill Edition”, and then I thought about a “Welcome to DC Biden and Harris” post but nah. None of that happened.

January was a lot. I decided to sit back and chill and watch instead. It doesn’t mean I don’t love my blog because I do. It just means that I love it so much that I can’t just throw anything on here. StyleStamped.com is like my diary, where I can keep it 100% real because I know if you’re reading this that means you really F with me. But y’all…the intro to 2021 was just… a LOT and I still have 2020 PTSD.

But once again, just like we have before, we made it through. So I’m posting at the end of the first month of the year of hope, the year of change, the year of a new Administration, and the year of hopefully going the hell back outside!

How are you doing? Like really doing. These are still crazy times for me, and I’m finding joy in home décor, spending too much money on candles and things, hearing Lee say “Happy Saturday” every day of the week and picking him up from school. It’s also cool to have my daughter go through the highs and lows of trying to get her driver’s permit… but boy things done changed. Also shameless age plug but I can’t believe I’m old enough to have a kid that is eligible to drive. Life…goes…fast!
