Neon green is a color that hasn’t received much attention since the 80’s, back when rubber bracelets and jelly shoes were poppin’ and everyone was listening to “Like a Prayer”. Well, if you’ve been paying attention to fashion for the past few years, you’ll see that just about every trend, color, and style has come back around from years past. For me this means just about anything goes and you’re free from specific trends and fads. Shoppers can find whatever comes to mind especially since vintage and second-hand shopping is easily accessible. This leads me to my spring thoughts of color and wanting to start it of in neon green!
I found the perfect neon sweater and skirt from ASOS. Comfortable and bright, I paired this look with a yellow belt and my favorite graffiti heels from Steve Madden although sneakers could go just as good with this dress up or down look.
Spring weather is tricky to manage because you never know if it will be hot, cold, warm, or freezing. A sweater, better yet a sweater dress is perfect for spring weather. Since it’s been cold here in DC, I went completely colorful by adding a hot pink J. Crew coat that I bought second-hand from Current Boutique.
This look makes me happy, it’s so much fun! The winter months are not my favorite; the early ending days and long dark nights are not the move for me and my mood. Now that the days are longer and spring is fast approaching it’s time to lighten the mood and the colors. This look did just that for me! I’m so excited for spring. You wouldn’t believe that I was born and raised in New York the way I detest the cold weather.
I’ve listed more neon green things that we’ve been eyeing to help spark great moods and cute looks this spring!
Let us know what looks you love to get your spring started off on the right foot, and in the right color! And for those of you asking about my hair, it’s bantu knots after drying a little, adding setting lotion and twisting, drying again and letting loose. 🙂
XOXO,
